The Facebook Share is a time to practice your critical thinking skills and be entertained at the same time. Find any short video, article or meme that you saw on social media, show it to the group and have a short discussion about its claims and implications, and the critical thinking skills that it shows (or doesn’t show).
Time: 5 minutes
- Try to find something entertaining – it could be funny, dramatic, weird or exaggerated,
- You don’t need to use a Facebook post. It could be an advertisement, article, or post from any media source,
- Do some background research – understand the source of the media and its bias. Be prepared to give everyone the bigger picture,
- Engage the group by asking them to spot the critical thinking errors in the media that you presented.
